About Lucy
Lucy Kowalski has been an active flutist and teacher for over 30 years in the Woodstock/Canton area. She has played in many flute choirs, bands, orchestras and ensembles over the years. Ms. Kowalski is currently the principal flute in the Marietta Pops Orchestra, and serves as a flute clinician at several local schools. She has been selected to perform with the National Flute Association Professional Flute Choir at the NFA Conventions. Ms. Kowalski has toured internationally with the International Flute Orchestra, and recorded with the National Flute Choir, Flute Choir of at Atlanta and the National ASK Worship Team.
The mission of Symphony on the Square is to draw together musicians from the Marietta, GA area to rehearse and perform quality orchestral repertoire for the enjoyment of our audiences and the musical fulfillment of our performers. Our commitment to musical excellence fosters our members' lifelong love of music and our performances seek to enrich the musical life of the community.
The Flute Choir of Atlanta has 20-25 active members including professional players and adult amateurs performing on C flutes, alto and bass flutes, and piccolo. The group performs a wide variety of music from Bach to ragtime and jazz to contemporary selections.
National Flute Choir
The National Flute Choir, conducted by Amy Rice Blumenthal, is a group of 20 professional flutists from across the USA who come together to record flute choir literature. Representing 14 states, they come from Alaska to Florida, Maine to Southern California, and many points in between. The flutes played include Piccolo, Eb Flute, C Flute, Flute d’Amour, Alto Flute, Bass Flute and Contrabass Flute, representing a span of six octaves.
